Michael Messer making 1930s style available to all
Not many guitarists would be brave enough
to step into guitar design
on their own, but that's exactly what British slide expert Michael Messer
is doing with the launch of these two new resonator models
Guitarist Magazine UK - April 2008
With over thirty years experience of playing, collecting & reviewing National
style resonator guitars,
I have been working with a small guitar workshop and UK importer to create what I believe are
the most
authentic &
playable National style resonator guitars at an affordable and realistic price.
The body dimensions,
neck profile, headstock, spun aluminium cone & set-up will give the player the
classic tone,
volume
& feel of a 1930s National guitar. I believe these are the only budget priced
National style resonator
guitars available that can boast these features.

Here are some
photos of Michael Messer BLUES and LIGHTNING resonator guitar necks
being handmade in the small workshop in China. No CNC machines churning out
everything exactly the same. These folks are really doing a great job. Being
handbuilt,
each guitar has its own character. Which is exactly how it should be.
