Formed in 1986 by Mike Cooper and Michael Messer, National Gallery made their
last appearance in1992.

They recorded two live BBC radio sessions that have become well known bootlegs, but National Gallery
never released an official album. The first radio session was for BBC Radio 2 "Rhythm & Blues"
show in 1987, and the second was for BBC GLR "Mary Costello Show" in 1992.
In November 1987 they appeared live on RAI UNO TV in Italy, they performed
"Key to the Highway." They toured Italy twice, in 1987 & 1992. National Gallery
never toured the UK but did appear at several major festivals.

The National Gallery CD "Keep it Clean" on Rhiannon Records
is a Mike Cooper & Mark Makin album,  it is not the band listed above
